Sinai Sports is pleased to partner with the following individuals to offer baseball and softball instruction for either individual or small group training.

With over 35 years of playing and coaching experience, Jim is a well-known member within the baseball and softball communities.

Jim was a 4 year starter for Tech Memorial High School, where he was a 3x All-Metro selection.  He then continued his playing career at Penn State Beaver where he earned PSUAS All-Conference honors.

After college baseball, Jim switched his focus to softball as a member of Bonnell's Softball team.  While with Bonnell's, Jim was an 11x ASA/ISA Open State Champion and twice was named an ASA 1st Team All-American.  In 2001, the team was the ASA 10 Man Major National Champions.

As a coach, Jim has contributed to the success of local baseball programs such as Mercyhurst Prep (1998-2000), Cathedral Prep (2016-2017) as well as the Erie Outlaws (2007-Present).  Along with being a Co-Founder of the Erie Outlaws Baseball/Softball organization, he currently coaches the 17U Baseball Travel Team as well as "The College Years" team that competes in the Glenwood League.  In addition, Jim is a former baseball instructor at the Strike Zone and Turf Zone.

Jim is a career firefighter for the City of Erie where he lives with his wife, Angela and their sons Jimmy (20) and Reece (18). He is very dedicated to youth sports in Erie and is committed to developing athletes to their full potential.

Ashley Samluk - Trainer.jpg

Ashley graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2016 with a Secondary Education degree, focusing in English.


During her time at Slippery Rock, Ashley was the starting third baseman for three years. In addition, to earning All-PSAC honors her sophomore and senior years, she was also named to the All-Region team in 2014.

Her senior year, she helped guide her team to the 2016 PSAC playoffs for the first time since 2009. Ashley ranks 6th in program history for most doubles, and 9th for most homeruns.


Currently, Ashley teaches at McDowell High School, her alma mater, where she also helps coach the Varsity and Junior Varsity softball teams. Her focuses/specialties include infield and hitting. Ashley has such a passion for coaching softball and loves giving back to the game.
